The Event:      Back by popular demand - a film festival just for kids featuring family-friendly independent films from around the world, as part of the 11th annual Tallgrass Film Festival. This programming is curated for ages 3 and up. Smallgrass Film Schedule 11 a.m. Classic Cartoons in Flight - selection of classic cartoons featuring fabulous flying things! 1 p.m. Smallgrass Shorts Program - selection of live action and animated short films from around the world 3 p.m. Animated feature film From Up on Poppy Hill Set in Yokohama, Japan in 1963, this lovingly hand-drawn film centers on Umi and Shun and their developing budding romance as they join forces to save their high school’s ramshackle clubhouse from demolition. This critically-acclaimed animated film is the winner of the Japan Academy Prize for Best Animated Film. The English-language version has a star-filled cast including Beau Bridges, Jamie Lee Curtis, Christina Hendricks, Ron Howard and more! Rated PG for mild thematic elements and some incidental smoking images. Smallgrass Admission (Includes admission to all three programs, special activities and all Exploration Place exhibits.)
