Salina Symphony Presents Symphony At Sunset

The Salina Symphony will perform a 70th anniversary D-Day Commemorative Concert on the Eisenhower Presidential Library Campus on Sat., June 7, at 8:30 p.m. Visitors are invited to bring their lawn chairs and enjoy a variety of patriotic and popular music. Admission is $5 suggested donation (no charge for children 12 & under). Eboni Fondren, a Kansas-city based jazz vocalist, will join the Symphony as guest vocalist. Fondren will perform Big Band favorites as well as a patriotic number. The Symphony will also perform several pieces in conjunction with the 1st Infantry Division Band. Pre-concert activities will include a performance by the 1st Infantry Division Band from 7-8 p.m. Food and beverage vendors will be open 12-9:30 p.m., offering a variety of meal options. Families are encouraged to bring blankets and enjoy dinner on the grounds. No outside food or coolers will be allowed. The Eisenhower Presidential Library has a full schedule of "D-Day +70 Years" activities planned for the weekend, including a C-47 flyover, documentaries, military reenactors, remembrance ceremony, vintage vehicles and more.
